Pre-race routine:

Got there plenty early so I could get all set up and have time to focus in and mentally prepare for this race.
Event warmup:

Swam a 100 yards or so.
Swim
  • 05m 7s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

I rocked the swim today. I was really happy with how well it went.
What would you do differently?:

Train more so I can go even faster.
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

My T1 time got lumped in with my bike split so I am guessing on this one somewhat. I know I was flying. Fastest T1 ever.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 44m 5s
  • 14 miles
  • 19.05 mile/hr
Comments:

So I am a bit urked with the bike. Things got a bit confusing as we were coming back into the park and I missed the turn and added about a minute to my bike time. The guy who was supposed to tell me to turn was not paying attention when I came through. Whatever...this was the only crummy part of my day.
What would you do differently?:

Not miss my turn!
I need to train more on the bike. I would like to average 22 or 23 MPH in my races. The off season is coming up, so I will definitely be working on that.
Transition 2
  • 00m 39s
Comments:

This was my fastest T2 ever. I am happy with it. It was perfect.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 22m 54s
  • 3.4 miles
  • 06m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

I did well on this run. I went so hard I almost puked.
What would you do differently?:

Go harder, like always.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with my wife and kids and friends. We cheered everyone on and waited for my friends Brian and Jessica to come in.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Missing my turn on the bike...Can you tell this is bothering me???

Event comments:

This may end up being my last race this year. I am still debating doing the flowing lake tri in early September. I have been very happy with all of my races this year. I have placed 2 or 3 in my age group in all 4. Next year I hope to improve that to #1.
