Comments: I needed to take my time and concentrate on my breathing but couldn't and it cost me lot's of time. What would you do differently?: Take more time prior to the race to practice more open water swims. Transition 1
Comments: Everything felt great but had some issues trying to get everything on fast enough to get a respectable time out. What would you do differently?: Bring a crate to sit on to put my socks and shoes on. Bike
Comments: Had some troubles with my gears changing on me, and had some really bad calf cramps that I was able to just push on through ! What would you do differently?: Next time during my pre-race warm up, I will hop on my bike for a quick spin to check how everything is working. Transition 2
Comments: Dropped everything at my space and was off. What would you do differently?: Maybe rack my bike on the handle bars, instead of the seat. Run
Comments: The run felt great !!! At the very end I was able to build up a great sprint to pass to guys at the finish line. What would you do differently?: I really don't know? Post race
Warm down: Lots of stretching ! What limited your ability to perform faster: Some issues with the gears on my bike and the cramps I encountered on the ride. I got there @ 5:45 am to drop my wife off to volunteer. I met up with my friend Chris and and we headed to the transition area to set up our gear and look over the swim area .
I started by doing some light stretching, followed by a 2 mile run to warm up the legs.
