Swim
Comments: I felt that I started well, but about 1/2 way I realized my HR was too high. For the first time in a race, I felt like I was racing, not just trying to survive. It was fun to be in the middle of things, and not BOP in the swim. What would you do differently?: Glide more; use more power and take less strokes. I felt that my cadence was off. Mostly adrenalin, I think. Transition 1
Comments: Stuff went everywhere, so I couldn't find my Socks. I just put on my bike shoes. No problems, so I may do that from now on. Only issue was swim dizzy so had to take a few breaths. Also, putting on gloves slowed me down as well. What would you do differently?: Figure out sock thing and gloves. Bike
Comments: I had fun on the bike. Got passed by lots of people, many were the Oly on their second lap, but I held my own. I stayed withing my planned exertion rate, so I felt pretty good. What would you do differently?: I think I need aero bars, rather than staying in my drops the whole time. Transition 2
Comments: I tried to take off my shoes on the bike. My shoes always flip over and I have trouble peddling. I got one working ok, but the other shoe was lose and in the clips. Never actually got out of it and was all messed up when I got off the bike. I wound up running with one shoe on the bike and the other in my hand. (em73 has funny pic!) Had trouble putting on socks. My feet were sweaty and they were sticking. What would you do differently?: Get better socks. Run
Comments: Felt hot and tired. My running is definately in trouble for Cranberry in 3 weeks. I did ok, felt slow, but my base was about what I want it to be at Cranberry.. had a GREAT kick when I hear someone breathing down my neck. Held them off! What would you do differently?: Be in better shape - NOT suck at running Post race
Warm down: Hung around, looked for my wife. Wound up riding out 3 miles or so looking for her relay teamate who was MIA. Found her going very slow- issues. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being sick a few weeks ago! Event comments: Firm needs help.. The spread themselves too thin and seem to always run late, etc. Last updated: 2008-08-04 12:00 AM

Terrible night sleep at my Parents. Crazy dog. Drove to the site, got bagel and coffee, water and Gatorade. Not much to report, other than setting up my stuff and hanging with the Mrs. Tried to go to the bathroom, but there was only ONE restroom for the Men. If ANYONE knows people at Firm, tell them this blew!
Actually got in the water and did a little swimming and playing in my wetsuit. Two words.. "Wetsuits ROCK!"
