Comments:

Best swim yet. Never really crammed in with the group. Seemed like i was taking it easy, always had openings. passed at least one swimmer on the last leg. Here's the the thing tho, i'm coming out of the water and the official says 6:30, i had to run up the beach to the timing gate and my time is 7:52 ?? definitely not a 1:42 run ? idk wtf happened here.
What would you do differently?:

not much, the swim was nice !!

Comments:

not as good as last week. Got there late and my shoes and socks were behind the rack. had to run around the rack get my helmet, gloves and bike. I think i actually grabbed my water bottle from the cage, drank some, then ran around the rack again to put it with my bag. Also, took the time to roll my socks down to put them on easily, which worked great last week, but proceeded to unroll the sock to put it on. I realized i did it with first foot and told myself not to do it with the second one. But, then i did the same thing. DUH @@
What would you do differently?:

The socks. Maybe try to get a better rack position (get there earlier)

Comments:

i thought it went better than the time reflected. I did get passed on the bike more than on the other two legs. i got a couple of places back toward the end of the course, but i think between 10 and 20 bikers went by me. That's just not good. I'm getting killed here. However, it was definitely a better ride than last week. seemed much less congested.
What would you do differently?:

blah, blah, blah - same ol that i haven't done. fix the bike issues.
Transition 2

Comments:

Combined with the run. This was actually really fast. just racked the bike, this could have been quicker there was a bike on the ground in front of my spot. But, i didn't have to change my shoes, so it was pretty quick.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe rack on the other side, more room.
Run

Comments:

stopped to grab two cups of water and drink them on the way out at the aid station. started out pretty slow, but ran even up the first hill. by mile 2 i was hitting my stride and feeling pretty good when a buy passed me. I started pacing him and over the next 1.5 miles i stayed with him and we passed about 10 runners. Then, he slowed up and i passed him !! i didn't want to pass him, i was happy just pacing him and having him pull me by people. I was able to get by about 2 more people and finished strong.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. it would be nice to get up to speed and into a rhythym quicker tho.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around a bit, drank some gatorade, which was really sweet, had to mix it with my water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My bike.

Event comments:

It's getting to be really fun. Met another BTer tonite who introduced me to some other triathletes. Went out for some beers and food. Apparently there's a regular spot around the corner that a lot of people go to. Only 2 more weeks left.

Maybe it was the transition, because it's combined with the bike. But it felt sooo much better than last week, but i only shaved less than a minute off my time. I used my running shoes this time, because i didn't like the clip in's, this became a problem on really bumpy parts of the trail, and there were lots, my feet bounced off the pedals, then i had issues because the pedal ended up clip side up. Really need to do something about the bike, pedals, air pressure (easy enough right?) and tires.
