Pre-race routine:

3d had none of my splits, so I ttok it off my watch as best as possible. I gave myself 2 minutes for T1 due to the run up the beach, and 1:00 for T2. I had overall time and hit splits when I started each leg, but no splits on my watch for transistion
Swim
  • 22m 15s
  • 1000 meters
  • 02m 13s / 100 meters
Comments:

course was back and forth 2 times. The swim was slowwwww as far as I was concerned, looking at everyone elses swim times though, it was normal. The sandbars coming back in made for a long run/dive/swim/dive back to the beach.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

This is just a guess due to having no recorded splits through 3d
What would you do differently?:

Not sure, I was really hoping to be able to fill this part out considering I worked on transitions for 2+ hours saturday to make my transistions faster!
Bike
  • 1h 18m
  • 24.4 miles
  • 18.77 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike was not as fast as i thought it would be. It was advertised as a flat fast course, but in reality, it was slow, flat, headwind. hah! The first half was slow, headwind the whole way, and then a couple bigger climbs before and at turnaround. Then back to flat, but faster with a little tailwind. Didnt make up for the headwind on the whole way out though... I was expecting to see some blazing fast times, and in reality, I think my 18.7mph was top 3 for women.
Transition 2
  • 01m
What would you do differently?:

Same thing.. I dont know.. no splits! :) I tried the shoes on bike thing.. went well until I hit the curb with my shoe coming into transition and it popped off and went flying! A volunteer got it and threw it to me, and off I ran again :)
Run
  • 47m 26s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

I took off on the run. I knew I was close to first, if not first, and I didnt want to lose it here. I have had a goal of faster running in tris this year, and I think I accomplished that today. I pushed and never let up. The way down the river was nice and a little tailwind, but the way back along the river was nice and headwindy again :) I would have prefered the tail on the way back, but cant be picky :) I held second place off, so it was a good run with me.
What would you do differently?:

faster?

Event comments:

I wont complain too much about 3d on here, but I truly am becoming disappointed with their timing at their events. I had no time at all, I saw another with no time at all, and multiple people missing splits. Unfortunately this seems to happen fairly often with them. You pay $70 to go race, and to go in there "hoping" that they catch all your splits during the race, is a letdown.
