Pre-race routine:

I got up around 5:30 am had waffles and peanut butter did a little yoga to loosen up the back. Loaded up the bikes and then headed up to White fish got to help set up the transition area.
Event warmup:

Put on the wet suit and went for warmup swim water was great.
Swim
  • 18m
  • 880 yards
  • 02m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was my first swim in compition so I assume its normal to get kicked in the head several times while trying to swim. But overall this was a great swim. I was a little overwhelmed at first but I got into a groove and just swam my race.
What would you do differently?:

I just need to get more OWS in I'll get better with time.
Transition 1
  • 03m 40s
Comments:

This is were I fell apart I could not get my zipper on my suit down when I finaly got my suit down I stepped away and my towl stuck to my foot and wipped out my suff I had layed out. Reached for my helmit and kicked it away and had to chase it down ( felt like keystone cops ). But I did get out of the transition area.
What would you do differently?:

Just relax.
Bike
  • 37m 40s
  • 12.36 miles
  • 19.69 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a great ride had a good pace the hill 4.5 miles in was a little tough but not long.Coming back down there wwas car in the road that blocked me for a while they finaly pulled over and let me by.
What would you do differently?:

I dont know this felt realy good maybe more long bike rides and some sprints.
Transition 2
  • 00m 42s
Comments:

This was much better than T1 racked bike, helmit off took a shot of hammer gel and water and off I went.
What would you do differently?:

I think this was a good transition.
Run
  • 25m 25s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

The run starts out with a steep hill and then into the neighborhood. There was a couple more hills but not bad. I kept up my pace all the way, I tried to kick it in but did not have any more in me at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Do more TRIs and more running.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked about drank water and cheered the other finishers. There was a Barbq afterwords and awards and prizes. This is a great race put on by great people will do this one again.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need more swimming and running practice and relax in the T1.

Event comments:

This was my first TRI so I dont have a lot of races to compare to but I had a lot of fun.
