Swim
Comments: I am a really slow swimmer. With time and better technique I hope to see some improvement someday. At least I know I can do get through the swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. I had a fun swim and thats what matters most. Transition 1
Comments: What would you do differently?: Shouldn't have sprinted in the swim because I was huffing through T1. Bike
What would you do differently?: Ride more hills. Last year I was mountain biking more and I felt stronger. This year I have been riding my road bike on flat land. I don't think it was enough of a challenge. Oh the other thing I noticed was that my toes were going numb. Not sure what that was all about. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Move faster in T2. Try speedlaces or yanks. Need a different hat. I couldn't get my hat fastened on my head correctly so I was fussing with it during the first 1/2 mile of my run. Run
Comments: Even though I wasn't moving at lightening speed, at least I didn't have to stop and walk. Last year the course was a mile shorter and I had to walk several hills. So I guess thats one improvement. The extra mile really made a difference in the difficulty level for me. In a good way though. Oh but my feet were on fire by mile three. The first part of the run didn't feel hot but the last ten minutes felt scorching. What would you do differently?: Probably run more hills. Find a different hat. Possibly a visor. Post race
Warm down: Walked/RAN to the ladies room! What limited your ability to perform faster: I could speculate I suppose but, I am not terribly worried about my ability to be faster. Event comments: Overall I had a smile on my face up until mile 3 1/2. As soon as I came across the finish line I was happy again. =) Triathlon is such a fun sport and I am excited to do another race, hopefully in October. Last updated: 2008-08-07 12:00 AM

Ate breakfast, oatmeal and yogurt, headed out the door for a leisurely drive to RS. Arrived, picked a decent spot in transition. Used the bathroom, set out all my stuff and proceeded with warm ups.
Ten minute run and bike. About fifteen minute in the water.
