Pre-race routine:

The usual routine. Woke up early, eat a Zone Perfect Bar, got dressed, and drove to the race. We dropped the car at the end of the race and got a bus ride to the beginning of the race. At this point we waited in the line for the restroom till the beginning of the race.
Event warmup:

Didn't really have time since I was patiently waiting my turn to use the restroom.

Comments:

I started the run as a pacer for a freind. We where keeping a nice pace so that she could finish in the 2:30 to 2:40 timeframe. After about 7.5 miles she decided to tuff it out on her own and told me to go ahead without her. After a moment I took off and sped up my min/mi. It was getting warm and at that point I just wanted to get the race over with. The first half was in 11-13 min/mi the second half was 8-9 min/mi.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I wasn't trying to PR, just running to have fun. It's nice to run a race once in a while without any expectations. Takes some of the stress off.
Post race
Warm down:

I wandered aimlessly to the family gathering area where I found Laura. After sitting there for a moment and stretching my legs back out (after eating the popcicle stick) we went back towards the finish line to see if Lauren had finished. We showed up just as she was walking through the finish area, what timing.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My decision not to run faster.

Event comments:

Overall the race was well put together and a good race. My expectations where a little high and I expected more music to be played.

Performance: Good
Course: Started in Phenox AZ and ended in Tempe AZ. For the most part is was very straight with minimul turns. The bands were decent, but I expected more than there were. In the first two miles there where four, but then they seemed to be spread every 1.5 miles or so. Of course I could have just missed them.
