Pre-race routine:

Set up my transition spot and then stretched. Normally i run but my knee was hurting so I didn't want to hurt myself.
Event warmup:

I was one of the last ones to go in the time trial start so I took a nap on the field.

I lost the buoys twice but I did not go far off of coarse. My shoulders were sore from not swimming all summer. My goggles fogged up the last 200yds which made it hard to look into the sun and see the finish.

Once again it took close to 90 sec for me to get my feet into my shoes on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Practice getting my feet in my shoes.

I finally hit 20mph average but I could have gone faster. I was unable to push harder going up hills and getting into my aero bars constricted my lungs.

Find a way to keep my heart rate at a controlled pace.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

On the bike it was my heart rate and my inability to control it. On the run it was lack of conditioning.

Event comments:

I do not like the time trial swim start. It takes forever to go.

My heart rate was speeding for the majority of the ride. I had a hard time controlling it which led to me not pushing my pace like I knew I could.
