Swim
Comments: A lot of trouble getting my breathing under control at the start. Seemed like a lot more people in my wave versus last time. After I got past the first bouy, had a good run of freestyle, with breaststoke mixed in. Transition 1
Comments: Spent a lot less time drying off this time, which helped. No socks...and no blisters. Jogged out. Bike
Comments: I felt a lot more comfortable on the bike versus last race. Definitely pushed myself a lot harder up the hills, which surprisingly to me didn't cost me anything on the run. I felt like there were a couple more spots I could have pushed, but all in all a good pace. Transition 2
Comments: Nearly knocked over the rack while putting my bike back (the posts were to close together). I had to stand there and hold it while a volunteer moved the legs back out. Nice of him, otherwise I don't know what I'd have done. Cost me some time, no big deal. What would you do differently?: Not knock the rack over. Run
Comments: Felt pretty good, but stiff at the start. If the mile markers are right, I hit a rut in the 2nd mile. I really picked up the last mile, which was great. It does make me feel like I have the potential to do that for all three miles, not just flat out on the last mile. What would you do differently?: I'd like to see a more consistent 8:00 pace for all three. Post race
Warm down: Stretch, water, shower Event comments: Fantastic race for me, improved by 5 minutes from the last race on the same course last month. Last updated: 2008-08-11 12:00 AM

Drove down the morning of, which sucked. Bagel with PB and banana for breakfast. 1/2 Clif bar, gatorade and GU pre race.
Some doubt as to whether we'd have the swim due to a blue/green algae problem. They allowed us to swim, they just hosed you off on the way out of the water.
