Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:15 ate a cliff bar and packed up the rest of my stuff. Got the bikes on the car and grab a bagel and apple juice from the hotel. Got to transition a little later then I would have liked, but still had plenty of time to set up, use the bathroom and get to the swim start.
Event warmup:

Actually went for a little swim to warm-up. Water felt great.

Comments:

A lot of people in this wave and it was very aggressive. It was extremely crowded out to the first buoy and just past. Got some open water and was swimming good. The current was pushing everyone in but I did a good job of staying straight. Of course not everyone else did and I kept getting cut off. I think I passed people from 3 waves up. Got crowded again towards the last buoy.
What would you do differently?:

I need to get more aggressive and get out in the 2nd pack. I can follow them and probably get a good draft, but I need to get through the crowd of people.

The run up the beach and into transition was long as hell. Put my googles up on my head as I ran out and forgot to grab them off before I got to my bike. Pretty good getting into shoes and helmet on. I need to figure something out for my glasses, they get all fogged up from the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Take cap and googles off early. Learn to do a flying mount. Not sure that would have work well on this course.

This is where I laid the hammer down. Come out of the park and turn left and almost immediately you are heading over a bridge. I passed a ton of people going up the bridge. The course overall was very very crowded. Riders blocking on the left. Think I yelled "On your left" more today then ever before. The course was very technique with a lot of turns. Was holding a high cadence and averaging 23-25mph on the flats. Uphills were slow at about 10-13mph. I probably passed about 200 people on the bike. Only got passed by like 3. Got cut off several times from people blocking on the course.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. This was a great bike.

The run was nice and cool. Overcast. Alot of the run was on the beach or sand trails which sucked. Felt okay, but legs were tired from the bike. Probably passed as many people as passted me. Still need to get better at running

Warm down:

Hang out with the TriGators, get some food and water. Packed up my truck and waited for my hardware. Lots of TriGators got hardware.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bad swim and need to improve my running
