Run
Comments: Felt really good. Glad I borrowed Heather's Garmin because I could feel I was starting out too fast, but I didn't know exactly how fast. Accidentally dropped it sub 7 for a little bit in the first mile, so I quickly adjusted and pulled it back closer to the average I wanted. Just ran what I wanted to average for until the turnaround and then decided I would race each of the last sections like a 10K and then a 5K depending on how I felt as the miles ticked away. Really only ended up being about to pace like a 10K for the last 6 or so. Couldn't ever really get the legs to turn over at 5K pace, even in the last mile. Oh well. What would you do differently?: Not a whole lot. Ran it the way I wanted and what I was trained for. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, stretched a little, grabbed some water and the post-race goodies. Headed back home pretty quickly after that as we had a busy day. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Just more training as life goes on. :) Event comments: As always, this is a good race. There just isn't a whole lot to offer in terms of entertainment afterwards just because it is a running race. It is a great race, but it is hard not to compare it to a tri where this always action going on. Last updated: 2008-08-14 12:00 AM
