Swim
Comments: I was paired with a 14 year old girl that was staying right with me. She was on the inside but got blocked by one of the racers that started :10 ahead of us. I pushed the last 15 meters to the wall to get in front of them. I passed the other person that started :10 ahead. (I was 2nd group after a 1 minute break). I ended up passing 3 more people and was passed by 1. What would you do differently?: Nothing. This was a good swim for me and I pushed it pretty hard. Transition 1
Comments: Everything was really wet from the rain. My socks were a little difficult to slide on. What would you do differently?: Not much. Go a little faster. Bike
Comments: Rain drops were hitting my eyeballs in the first few miles. The first downhill was a little reserved with the wet conditions. I am pretty pleased with my bike split. The only way I'm going to get faster here is with more time in the saddle. What would you do differently?: More interval and hill training. Race day went well. Transition 2
Comments: My running shoes were weighted down with water. Run
Comments: My shoes weighed me down a bit. It was a bit harder to transition to the run with the extra weight but the run went pretty well for me. I might have been able to push a little harder on the first lap. Post race
Warm down: Drink water. Hug my family! Event comments: This is an annual favorite! This is home for me and my family is always there to cheer me on! Last updated: 2008-08-18 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:45am to the sound of thunder and immediately went to look at the radar. No worries, it'll all be gone by 7am, I thought. Drank 2 cups of coffee and ate a Nature Valley Peanut Bar. Left for the race site at 5:30.
The lightening continued until 6:45am so warmup was limited to a short .5 mile run and 100 meter swim.
