Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 6:30am ate some oatmeal had a coffee,stretched,showered,waited fro my buddy to show up and we were off. Of course I got lost but we eventually found the school where they had everything set up.
Event warmup:

Got my race number, went for a nice easy jog then a few strides, walked around with Albert,stretched and went looking at the "scenery". with 12 minutes to go went for another short jog followed my some more strides.

Comments:

Went out way too Fast! It was a small race so I started really close to the front, looked down at my Garmin to see my pace was in the 3:40's and tried to slow down,still ended up much faster then I should have for the 1st km. Kinda got in the grove and was feeling pretty good for the next couple km's then the sun really started to beat down and was sweating like a mad man. At about 7k I was starting to hurt but knew I was on track for a really good time so I just sucked it up and kept running. Big hill shortly after the 8k mark and was not looking forward to it but I just upped my cadence and shortened my stride and was up it in no time. Albert was there cheering me on shortly after the 9k mark and ran with me and cheered me and that gave me some extra energy so I found another gear and gunned it for the finish and was very happy to see 41:29!!! Beat my 10km PB from last year by about 6 and a half minutes! Training DOES pay off! I earned this!
What would you do differently?:

go a little slower in the first km

Warm down:

walked around got some fruit and water and sport drink, stretched a little, walked around,cheered people on that were still finishing then waited for the awards. I got a medal for 3rg in my AG.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

This is only the 2nd year this race happening and I was very happy with everything.

Course: The course was a loop course with a few small hills and a bigger one right at the end, quite a few turns at the end too.
