Comments: Caught the man ahead for 30s on the second length, speed dropped a little on the 3rd Transition 1
Comments: Put shoes on in transition, no probelms with this transition Bike
Comments: Felt good for the first 10km, caught a few people and felt strong. Had a bit of a lull at the 10km mark which I wasn't happy with, but picked it up for the inbound section. Unfortunately there was a headwind for the inbound bit which knocked my pace a bit. What would you do differently?: Remember to take a gel on the bike Transition 2
Comments: Yet again I lost a shoe getting off the bike - this NEVER happens to me in training, and ALWAYS happens to me in the raec. Kindmarshalls rescued it for me though. And AGAIN I got the insole of my trainers crunched up. Decided I couldn't wait to sort it out and ran with it. Didn't seem so slow me down, just annoyed me. What would you do differently?: Glue the insole of my trainers in and glue my bike shoes to the pedals (not that this slowed me down, it's just going to get expensive one day) Run
Comments: I'm sure the course is shourt - I didn't feel like I was going particularly fast, but a good pace, yet I've taken 2mins of my 5km PB. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Running speed, even though it was a PB, still far too far down the pack given my performance on the bike (and to a lesser extent swim) Event comments: Entry and exit from transition was a bit complicated - you had to walk in on the bike course.
