Event warmup:

Biked 1 mile checking gears and practicing sockless entry on and off the bike. Ran 1/2 mile and stretched 15min

Comments:

Good start and drafted with some runners north into the wind. Felt good going into transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 00m 37s
Comments:

12th Fastest Overall Transition. Good transition and fast in and out. Missed the left bike shoe when jumping on the bike during the running start.
What would you do differently?:

Practice slipping into the shoes fasted once up to speed on the bike.
Bike
  • 25m 45s
  • 10.56 miles
  • 24.61 mile/hr
Comments:

Real strong on the bike. Kept passing people who were far ahead of me due to the first run. Felt real good in the areo postion and kept cadence high throughout the race.
What would you do differently?:

Not much on the bike. I did loose time after I passed the transition line to mount my bike on the running bare foot start. I need to work on the jump start and shoe entry once up to speed. Probably lost about 30 seconds due to the error.
Transition 2
  • 00m 35s
Comments:

14th Fastest Overall. Good transition and fast in and out. Real good running dismount off of bike. Took feet out of shoes about a 1/4 mile from transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 14m 24s
  • 1.86 miles
  • 07m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Really slow into the first mile. Legs felt fine but cardio was horrible. I felt a bit sick because I drank some CYTOMAX to late/at the end of the bike leg. Felt much better on the turnaround
What would you do differently?:

Drink less prior to bike-to-run transition.
Post race
Warm down:

Some light walking

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My cardio capacity on the last run segment.

Event comments:

Great fast and fun race. Great race to see how you stack up in the bike and transition efforts.
