Swim
Comments: 1 min better than last year, and less training...go figure. Water temp was better and more comfortable are really the only reason for better... Did more drafting and focused on swimming my race. What would you do differently?: Just get better at swimming form... really far more comfortable than I was last year. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition..no complaint on what I did... What would you do differently?: Learn to jump on bike and to have shoes already in... Bike
Comments: Need more time on the saddle...did really good in trying to keep cadence up and use more gears... I got 18, I think I used them ALL.. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: not much...other than not have a hurt left leg so I looked like an old man at the run start... Run
Comments: started out rough - got better with time. Post race
Warm down: Wanted to see Dr. Josh, but just did not have time before having to get back and back to the books.... sitting on a bag of ice for my left hammy. What limited your ability to perform faster: Left hamstring, lower back (left), left hipflexor... Think I need some time w/ Dr. to figure out the source of this problem. Event comments: Overall for limited training time, and for just going out to do it, I had a FANTASTIC race... I am really happy that I matched last years time. Okay so last year was 1hr, 47mins, 15s; this year was 1hr 47mins, 14s...okay so can not get much more consistent than that all I did was, trade time off the swim for added time on the bike, then pulled a bit faster run. For next year, need to focus on swim and bike...mostly bike. So people like Tommy won't come by slapping my butt saying "get along old man this....is a race after all"--- Last updated: 2008-08-23 12:00 AM

Same as last year, got up, got mini-cinaminon bagel, coffee and dressed (in roughly that order)..drove with Alice (love2tri) to the race site. Or more correctly, near the race site, and rode our bikes the mile into the site. Setup transition station, got my chip, got marked, chatted with Scott, Tommy (tzmitch), Eric (medic0020) and various others from the QCTC and work.
Swam out into lake, to pee, and prep...got out...got cold (yep), and got back in water to start...did not have much time to linger.
