Pre-race routine:

Up at 5:30, cottage cheese, banana, and coffee for breakfast. Watched a little olympics, out the door at 6. Got to the race in plenty of time to set up, drink some water, etc.
Event warmup:

Didn't do much warming up, got in the water for about 2 minutes and stretched while waiting in line for swim start.

Comments:

For the part I was most worried about, had a great swim in this race! First 200 m or so were difficult as I was getting used to swimming in the pack. I hung towards the back of the group since I didn't know what to expect, but since I was swimming better than average, I had to work past a lot of people. Got in good pattern of swimming about ten strokes between sighting.
What would you do differently?:

Try and start towards front of pack, attempt to draft off of other swimmers.

Didn't really practice transitions, but felt ok about it. Next time would probably try and speed it up a little, possibly look into some elastic laces or something similar. Also would rack bike by the seat instead of handlebars, got stuck a little using handlebars.

Loved the cold towels. Probably could have gone a little faster but was really worried about using up everything I had left before I got to the finish line.
