Swim
Comments: Good swim for me. Sighting was good. This was my first race in the Great lakes. The wetsuit helped alot. I will need to get one for the future. A little confusion on which bouy to turn but I figuared it out and had a great time for me. What would you do differently?: I thnk it went great. I need to lean how to draft. I can work on this at open water swims at orlander. Transition 1
Comments: Had trouble geting the wetsuit off but over all it went well just to slow. I need to speed it up. What would you do differently?: I need to run out of the water to T1. I also need to get a tri suit so I dont have to mess with a jersey. Bike
Comments: I got on the bike and everything was good untill my hamstring/groin started to hurt. Usually I stop and stretch it out on my training ride but this is a race so I worked my way through it. It was a problem for me the whole ride. This could be why my time was so bad or I am just slow not sure which. Course was great but the hills got me. In toledo we have no hills to train on. I have got to figuare out why my H/G tightens up on hard rides. I was only in the left leg no pain in the right. What would you do differently?: Go faster. I need to figuare out the leg issue so I can push it harder to make the top 10. Transition 2
Comments: No problems here. Got in and out in good time but need to get it under 1 min. What would you do differently?: I need to get feet out of my shoes before the dismount area and run it my socks. Run
Comments: It was raining but it felt good. Course was along the lake. It was an OK run for me I thought I went faster per mile that 8:15 but overall it was a good run. I think I had a negative split. Which was what I wanted to do. I just want to go faster but with IT-Band issues this summer I just did not get enough running in. On a good note no pain in the knee. Thank you UT Medical Center. What would you do differently?: Run Faster and Train smarter to stay away from injury. Post race
Warm down: Walked around with Anne and the kids. Then sent them home with Grandma and granpa to stayed around to see results. What limited your ability to perform faster: The Hamstring/Groin thing. It must be a postion issue on the bike I need to get this figuared out. I think I just need to Buy a new bike. That will solve both problems the fit and the speed. Event comments: I will be back next year to do the HIM. Last updated: 2008-08-26 12:00 AM

Got up ate a piece of toast and drank some powerade. Then off to the race. Got to race early and set up and then waited to start.
After setup went to beach and stretch a little. Next time I need to stretch more before a race. More on that later.
