Sunny
Total Time = 1h 29m 44s
Overall Rank = 187/292
Age Group = MC
Age Group Rank = 6/11
Event warmup:

Swam 200 yds and short run. Stretched for about 5 minutes
Swim
  • 10m 7s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 32s / 100 meters
Comments:

Water was colder than I was used to which affected my breathing. I also kept waiting for someone to runinto me in the pool. These fears were unfounded since by the end of swim, I was between 75-100 meters ahead of the closest swimmer.
What would you do differently?:

Swim harder. Spend more time getting used to the water temperature.
Transition 1
  • 02m 7s
Comments:

Had some issues with my front tire not rotating freely - it was like the brake was on. Took some time in T1 to try and fix this. Slowed my time up by at least 40 seconds - if not more.
What would you do differently?:

More transition practice. Have Try-Sport fix this problem prior to race. I tried to fix it myself...BIG MISTAKE.
Bike
  • 46m 18s
  • 12 miles
  • 15.55 mile/hr
Comments:

Should have fixed tire rub prior to race. Had to stop twice to try and fix it...without much success. It was like climb with the front brake on.
What would you do differently?:

Try-Sport to fix tire.
Transition 2
  • 01m 12s
Comments:

Transition was pretty smooth.
What would you do differently?:

More pratice
Run
  • 30m 3s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

After bike, it took my legs about a mile to come to me. I tried to be patient. The one hill gave me some trouble...I walked it both times and resumed my run immediately at the crest. Was worried about a shin splint in my left legs...did not bother me until after the race and then only a little.
What would you do differently?:

More bricks, more intervals, more hills
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around for about 5 minutes and drank a bottle of Gatorade. Got some food after the race to boost glucose levels.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WEIGHT and stupidity.

Event comments:

Will do again next year and try and improve time.
