Event warmup:

Not much of a warm up we just ran down to the starting line, about a mile from the hotel. The starting line was a little confusing because everyone was just milling about in the park. Then someone started talking and we just started to mingle into the street.

Comments:

This was my best long run in terms of how I felt, cardio was excellent, strenght was great and my pace was right on to what I wanted it to be. At mile 9 I felt a sharp pain in my right knee, my IT band had given me some trouble about a month ago but had not reared its ugly until today. So for the last few miles I kinda did a limp run thing and my pace droped from around a 8:00 pace that i was trying to maintain to a 9:45. So all in all I had a excellent race with just a small thing to work in future races, This was a also a great end to my first year of running and I look forward to many more.
What would you do differently?:

More yoga to keep me limber so little things to come back to haunt me in the future.
Post race
Warm down:

I waited at the finish line for DW to come in, it was still pretty cool out so I was glad I had brought my jacket. When DW came in we walked around for a bit got some water then walked back to the hotel so we could shower.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

just the IT problem. Maybe work a little more on hills.

Event comments:

The course was very hilly and the people organizing it were a little disorganized the volenters were great.
