Bike
Comments: My first paceline experience. Riding in line is fun, but took my aero bars away from me. 107 miles in the up position on a tri bike is not comfy. I think I held my own in the paceline. I took all of my turns and some long pulls. The first 54 we averaged a little over 20 mph in the hills. The guys I was riding with took their time at the food stops. I'm not used to the stopping and starting of a ride like this and it took its toll on my legs. I was all in by the finish. Fun day with some great people. What would you do differently?: Get my older roadie bike tuned up and ride it. Post race
Warm down: We got delayed a food stop for hail, so I had to hustle home to make it on time to take my wife out to dinner. What limited your ability to perform faster: First time in a paceline, being in a paceline on a tribike, long rest stops, not being able to use aerobars. Event comments: Great event. Food stops are excellent. Well marked. Great people. Last updated: 2008-09-05 12:00 AM

Signed up. Met some old friends and some new friends. One guy we were riding with had recently rode from Peoria, IL to Boulder, CO in 9 days averaging 110 miles a day. I fet a little intimidated.
100+ mile ride, no warm up needed.
