Swim
Comments: I made the mistake of taking the swim for granted. I did not pay attention to the earlier waves to see what the current was doing, an ended up more to the right than I should have. Looking at times of other people that I swim with, I probably lost 1-2 minutes due to poor navigation. What would you do differently?: Navigate better, draft. Transition 1
Comments: 4th fastest T1 in my AG. What would you do differently?: Not much, been working on getting smoother on the transitions. Bike
Comments: Felt pretty good on the bike, I thought that I would have a first, not getting passed by anyone in my AG. I got passed right at the very end, so still a good bike for me What would you do differently?: Continue to bike more. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, nothing special Run
Comments: One of those rare runs where everything felt great, not tired, nothing hurt. Maybe my best run split for a triathlon. I'm going to guess that more biking has something to do with it, because I certainly have not been running as much as I usually do. Mentally this was my best tri run, there were guys in my AG from our tri club that I wanted to be and I was able to pick them off one by one. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed some water, bannana and just walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Good race for me, less than a minute slower than last year but I don't think we had as much current this year. Event comments: We had about 90 people from our tri club doing this race so it is always one of my favorites, the weather was perfect for racing and we had a lot of podium finishers. Woke up at 4:30, ate a slice of toast with honey, had coffee and some Gatorade. Left the house at 5, got there at 5:10 and started setting up.
Rode the loop, ran down to the swim start at about 7:10. I had a throw-away sweatshirt on, so I was able to stay warm.... till I got in the water.
