Comments:

Started out in a start line. Was doing good. Would sight and see everyone off to my left. Just stayed in a straight line. Then saw the lifeguard in a kayak moving the one of the buoys. Not sure what one he moved, but I went around him and the buoy, hit the second buoy and turned back towards home. Had a little more trouble navigating here, but didn't go off course to far. This was a time trial start with races going off every 5sec, so not much to draft off.

Transition 1
  • 03m 1s
Comments:

Its a good 1/4mile run from the lake to T1. They have little baby pools to clean your feet off which is nice. Took 2mins to get into T1, then had a good T1.

Comments:

Started out and my front brake was rubbing. Had to do a quick fix of that on the fly and was off and going. Course was pretty close to a straight out and back and we had a headwind the entire way out. Was able to average at least 20 mph on the way out. The way in was nice with a tailwind. Averaged 24 mph on the way in. I think the course was about .5mile long, which is why my ave bike seems slow.

Transition 2

Comments:

Someone has kicked my shoes, but they weren't to far off.
What would you do differently?:

Run
  • 23m 50s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Legs felt very heavy during the first mile which is not usual for me. I usually feel good right out of the gate. Held a 8:06 pace for the first mile. We were also going into a headwind. At the turn I started to feel better. The turn was just after mile 1. Mile 2 pace was about 7:45. Mile 2 cuts across a bike lane but there was no bikes coming. Mile 3 pace was about 7:30. Picked it up when I saw the 6mile sign for the international race. Knew I had another TriGator coming up behind me.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Will train more on the run over the winter.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched and ate.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing

Event comments:

They make the sprint racers wait around until the international race is complete to hand out awards. Then they hand out the international race awards first.
