Run
Comments: I should have taken my Nike+ Sports Band so I would know what my pace is but alas I did not. The first mile was just positioning to get some clear running. Once you are on the runway it was nice. Second mile I thought was pretty fast but I really couldn't judge it too well even with my watch. I am dummy. 3rd mile I was hurting a little bit and mad because I kept on thinking about this house buying process so I didn't enjoy the scenery too much. I thought I was sprint the last .1 mile but I was passed by everyone and their wheelchair bound grandmother. What would you do differently?: Take my Nike+ Sports band and I hope it was configured right. Drink more before the race. Post race
Warm down: I headed straight for my car. Grabbed some water, a gatorade and banana. There wasn't much to do there or reasons to hang out. If I had brought Cooper he would have liked all the machinery that was on display and the plane flying above. What limited your ability to perform faster: My inability to push myself to the limit! Been that way 41 years! Event comments: Despite the long lines for registration/packet pickup (or should I say shirt pickup, no schwag) it was cool to run on a runway. I look at it as one time only event unless they open/build another runway at O'Hare. It would have been nice to run with someone I know but oh well. I felt good for this race, except for my usual nervousness, and I could have pushed harder. It was so damn flat. Last updated: 2008-09-12 12:00 AM

Woke up nice and late. Ate a waffle, a banana and some Gatorade. Got to the airport with plenty of time. Little confused about picking up number and shirt but it all worked out.
Porta-Potty stop as usual but not a long wait. Start was delayed 15 minutes for security reasons. Stretched under a tree. Relatively nervous as usual.
