Pre-race routine:

Didn't sleep well and up early. Coffee and raisin bran
Event warmup:

Swam about 200 yards (not enough)
Swim
  • 11m 32s
  • 875 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Didn't feel good. I let my stroke get sloppy and started breathing way to much and too often on my right side. Why did I do that ?. Had trouble navigating around the swimmers in the wave in front of us. Started swimming normal for the last 250yrds. Not enough sleep hurts my swim. One thing that was cool is I drafted some guy for awhile. I don't really believe that helps much but following his bubbles made navigating easy.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get better sleep the night before. Warm up longer if possible. Swim my own race.
Transition 1
  • 02m 26s
Comments:

Huge transition area. I went as fast as possible and remembered to get pumped to hurrty
What would you do differently?:

Hurry faster and skip the sun glasses when its raining
Bike
  • 40m 4s
  • 12 miles
  • 17.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Lost my darn chain again. I am fast now at putting in back on. The last big hill at the end was amazing. I blazed down that. Love that feeling.
What would you do differently?:

Attack those hills harder.
Transition 2
  • 01m 53s
What would you do differently?:

Get that helmet off as I run with bike
Run
  • 22m 56s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

I didn't drink anything and I think that was good. I didn't get passed as much as usual and even passed a good number of runners. I pushed this and was satisfied with my effort
What would you do differently?:

Have a better endurance level by the start of next season.
Post race
Warm down:

Great food!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sleep. Wet roads. Endurance level and a stupid moves swimming.

Event comments:

Guy on the PA in the AM was a bit too serious. The plunder after the race was good. Last tri of the season and what fun it was. Can't wait for next season. Awesome sport and with great people.
