Pre-race routine:

Woke up early. Had a doughnut and an Ensure. Drank a half a bottle of gatoraide on the ride to the race.

Short run. Should have went a little longer, but was trying to stay as dry as I could for as long as possible.

The rain got me off track a little, but I suck at transitions anyway. Not used to putting on a rain jacket for the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Get up a little earlier and do an anti-rain dance to make the clouds go away.

My bike was really bad. I had to stop after a block and get my jacket on right. Went through my water quicker than I thought that I would. I guess I should have expected a bad time and that is what I got.
What would you do differently?:

Not fight off a rally bad infection due to a cracked wisdom tooth and end up getting three teeth pulled 2 weeks before the race. It got pretty bad about a month before this race to the point I couldn't eat. The couple forms of antibiotics killed all of my training for some time before this event.

I never got passed on either of the runs and I think I let up a little on this last one. I really needed to push myself a little harder when there is no one to challenge me. By the way, this usually isn't a problem as people are always passing me.
What would you do differently?:

Push myself a little harder.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think the infection really hurt me. I felt really sluggish out on the bike and my time showed it. My training has been very poor all year. This is my first full year in the sport of triathlons and duathlons, and I just kinda rode the bike a couple times a week, ran at the same pace all the time, and swimed when I had some time. I need to become more stuctured and learn to do some intervals.

Event comments:

The rain sucked a big one, but hurricane Ike had to go somewhere. Not too much anyone can do about that. I really like the breakfast afterwords. I wish more races had this, instead of some of the crap they have. I will do it next year for this reason alone. Only one bad thing to say. The website said we got a tech-t. What we got was a cotton long sleeve. Oh-well, I am happy that I got anything I guess.
