Pre-race routine:

Dave and I arrived in Tempe late Thursday night. We woke up late on Friday and were complete hedonists all day long. We did manage to do an easy 30 minute bike and 20 minute run. We grabbed food from the hotel snack bar and continued to be lounge lizards. We saw Lynn at breakfast in the hotel Saturday AM and made plans to swim around 1:00. Dave and I went to drive the bike course then back to the hotel. We rode our bikes to the packet pickup Great dinner at Claim Jumper with Lynn and family @ 5 Saturday night.! Went to be really early and slept like a rock. 4 AM wakeup call. I ate 1/2 a bagel w/ peanut butter and my usual protein shake. We had our stuff all ready to go. We waited to see if Lynn was going to join us then headed out to walk the 2 miles to the race start. It was pretty cold and I was very glad to have my thick bike tights and two jackets.
