Pre-race routine:

I arrived fairly early, and there was a ton of parking, unlike last year--so that was nice. Picked up my number and Lynne's so she didn't have to wait in the lines that I knew were going to get longer. Ate a Z-Bar and drank some vitamin water and a little bit of coffee I took from the volunteer area (oops!). Lynne and I visited the restrooms at my gym, jogging there to warm up, since it was close by and much cleaner than the porta potties.
Event warmup:

They had someone leading a stretch so we did that with everyone else, then lined up to race, listened to Star Spangled Banner.

Comments:

I was #134 of 319 women runners. I felt great on this run, kept a high cadence and even was under an 8 min mile a few times. Afterward I felt that I could have run much more. (10-miler coming up Oct. 26 which will test that theory!)
What would you do differently?:

Make sure Ipod works. It died at 4 miles. Not wear boots out walking the day prior--I had major blisters, luckily they didn't bother me while running. Otherwise just keep on running faster!
Post race
Warm down:

Drank water, cheered for people I knew in the race, and then went to Starbucks with Lynne. Peppermint mocha, mmmm!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing, I think I kicked it!

Event comments:

Great race, will do it again for sure next year.

Performance: Good
My goal for this race was first to be under an hour, and better than that would be under 55 minutes--or under a 9-min mile average. I wore my garmin but still can't find where the HRM strap is.
Course: Very flat and fast through the Salmon Days street fair. Nice route, fun. About 4 miles in it meets the end of the 5k route, so there's some bobbing and weaving to do in order to get through the crowd.
