Swim
Comments: I was extremely happy with this swim. But I got knocked around quite a bit. Our 34 and up age group wave was huge. Women battling it out all over the place. I got kicked in the face..goggles came off once. Got my legs pulled on. But was able to hold it together. Even chatted with Joe Runner in the water. We chatted as we swam with every other breath. Was surprised to see her right next to me. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: A little slow in this transition due to the fact that I couldn't find my friggen bike shoe. The woman next to me had it attached to her wetsuit. The velco stuck to her suit when she laid it on the ground. Other than that pretty smooth. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Was very pleased with this time. My goal was sub 3..which I hit! 3 mins slower than last year but overall it was just a fun and enjoyable ride. Drank two bottles of perp, 2 endurolytes every hour and lots of water. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Thought this went pretty smoothly. Had to stop and pee before going out on the run. Can't believe I held it the whole 56 miles. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Walked up the first hill out of transition to catch my breath etc. I ran a 4:1 jeffgalloway run. Been doing this with every run over 2 hours. It really seems to be working for me. I will be using it at moo, so I wanted to start using it for my longer run/races. Was actually surprised how good I felt off the bike. My only goal on the run was to beat my time from last year, which I did by 15 min. The only issues I had on the run was at mile 11, when my throat started closing and I needed a couple shots of albuterol. I was good until the finish, then had to take a couple more after finishing. What would you do differently?: More/longer training runs Post race
Warm down: Walked around..got some food, then headed to the tent where all the donkeys were hanging out. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: I absolutely love this race. The support this year from the donkai group and other BTers was unbelieveable. I felt like a superstar coming down that finishers chute. A huge thank you to all the support crew and jockstrappers. And I can't say enough about the love of my life...Craig (firstnet911) Thank you for your continued support and ability to put up with me on my journey toward IM Wisconsin in September. I too am proud of you and amazed at your speedy recovery! LU! Also thank you for the 200+ pictures that he took that day of everyone. Some really great shots. My goal was to go sub 6!! PR FOR ME ON THIS RACE BY 19 MIN!!! Last updated: 2008-10-01 12:00 AM
