Comments: Had great swim to first buoy. Was first woman in my wave. Swallowed some water and did breast stroke to second buoy. Was passed by one woman and drafted off her in freestyle to finish. What would you do differently?: Got to learn to calm down during the swim. If I can relax, stay in a rythm, and swim. I could really KILL the swim. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Marked rack row with super grover. Helped to not get lost. What would you do differently?: I'd like to improve this time, but don't feel confident enought to do the run/jump on bike, ride onto of shoes. ![]() Bike
Comments: I'm proud of how far my riding has come. I started the season at 14.5 mph to 17.4 mph on this ride. What would you do differently?: I'd like to really attack the hills and learn to gear better. Didn't use big cog since chain came off in tri2remember. Probably could have hit 18 mph. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: I continue to have problems getting my shoes on. Still having some weakness in my hands after the ride. What would you do differently?: Grab the tongue of my shoes better before putting them on. ![]() Run
Comments: I felt like I was going faster. I really tied to push it. I think I actually cheered the Athena that finished just in front of me into the finish line. She was going to walk it. Damn! I'm too nice! What would you do differently?: I would run alot more in training. Less swimming, more running, more bricks. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Grabbed water, walked around, found another racer from my hood, talked and looked for family, then walked and waited for sister to finish (she got stung by bee and has allergies. Ambulence called. Race director let her finish. I think she would have one Athena. She was kicking my booty, but it's on next year!) What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training focus on the run. Not enough variety in run training (no speed work). Event comments: Liked that they had a nice spread after the event. Think it may have been inspired by the irongirl. Got up at 5:30. Slept well. Ate pb and bananna bagel with 2% milk, large coffee with cream, and large gatorade with water.
Walked 1 mile from parking. Brisk set up and bathroom. Didn't want to get in water for fear of chill.
