Run
Comments: I set a goal of breaking 1:16:00 for the run and did that but it wasn't easy at all. My HR was way up from mile 4 until the end. I wore shorts and a long sleeve dri-fit shirt and thought that would be ok but I got hot after Mile 2. Should have worn a sleeveless tee and just fought through the initial chill. I started blistering up on both feet after Mile 6 and I think I am due for a new pair of shoes but I fought through it. Omar and I ran together for the first 6 miles but he had a ton in the tank while I was hitting the wall so I told him to go on ahead...he rocked this race! Overall pretty pleased with my time but I need to keep the miles up because I am still not where I want to be. What would you do differently?: More training of longer distances at quicker paces. Take the run more serious in the days leading up to it...hydrate, no drinking, sleep more, etc... Post race
Warm down: Nada...off to the car to do Thanksgiving. What limited your ability to perform faster: See above...more miles. Event comments: Great race...wish there were a couple more water stations but it's hard to give water to 34,000 people so I understand. This is a must do if you are a Dallasite! Woke up at 7:30 and had a bowl of cereal, a glass of water, and a Coke for some caffeine to wake my dragging ass up. Met Omar and the lovely Mrs Munir outside my apartment and we drove over to O and I's usual parking spot.
We arrived about 45 minutes until the gun so we basically walked around, had a bottle of water, pee'd and that was it for warming up.
