Pre-race routine:

Got up early and took out the dogs. Drove down to course which is about 10 minutes from the house. I did a half ironman last weekend and wasn't sure if I should race but decided since I was so slow in the half I should be able to do it.
Event warmup:

4 minute jog arouund the festiva.
  • 57m 56s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 20s  min/mile

We started on north side of beach road. I think it was supposed to be on south side but everyone stayed north. Felt good and ran even pace most of the way. Just pass mile 2, my wife and buddies rode up on the bikes and cheered me. I chose to race today, everybody else road bikes. Mile markers were more accurate than last year but still off a bit. Mile 5 is the hardest, slight uphill and headwind, tailwind took me home for last 1.3 miles.
Post race
Warm down:

just walked around and talked to others.

Event comments:

The course per the map is not what was run. We were supposed to run on the beachside of the road but they didn't on the way out and only half the people did on the way back. I am happy as I PR'ed.
