Run
Comments: Lined up behind the start line by about 20 feet. Just far enough back to block the cold wind, but hopefully not behind the walkers. It worked out good for the first half mile or so. I would grab a lane and Dudley would follow me through or vice versa until we made the first turn. After that it was clear roads until the finish. I tried to find someone that was running at a similar pace to keep me moving and focusing on maintaining a steady pace. My plan was to try to stay in the mid 7 minute pace until the last turn on Winton and kick it hard to the finish. My when I registered for this race was to shoot for a PR assuming the weather wasn't too bad. I came close but was short 5 seconds by the watch and probably 10 seconds by the gun time. I am not disappointed with this as I have been sick all week with a cold. Plus it feels good to have a strong pace heading into the winter running series! What would you do differently?: Not get sick. Post race
Warm down: Found Dudley as he was just a few seconds behind me and we wandered around looking for Heather. We then went inside to get warmed up and some hot chocolate. We were hoping to find gator22, but we never did. Then I had to hurry back to work :( ! What limited your ability to perform faster: Just fighting the cold this week. Event comments: They do a nice job with this race. I think the head count was about 600 or so. This year they moved the post race (and pre-race for that matter) into a bigger school and it made it much easier to get around. Last updated: 2008-10-14 12:00 AM

Up early for work, then left work with just enough time to get to the race start in time.
Jogged from the parking lot to the school where the chip pick up was. Went inside to look for Dexter and hit the head. Found him and Heather and headed to the start line.
