Pre-race routine:

Got there with plenty of time. A 2 location-transition start. Got a great parking spot, right near 2nd transition, where the running gear was set up.
Needed to ride your bike to the first transition to rack and swim.

Nothing unusual, took ritual dump.

Decent swim, my swim place is always right around where my final overall place is. Swim was decent, no issues, got a bit tired toward the end.
What would you do differently?:

As always train more, maybe do longer reps.

A little slower than would have wanted. Jogged, walked in order to catch breath. Had to stuff swim gear in bag for transportation back to finish area. Usual issues with wetsuit.

Run harder to get to bike.

OMG. probably the hardest bike course I have recently done. I was almost at a stand-still a few times. Really got beaten up on this course. Was not adequetly trained to ride this. Had the slowest bike leg of EVERYONE in front of me.
What would you do differently?:

Do some serious training on hills. SUNY-Old Wesbury many times!!

Good run considering I was beat up from the bike. Flat course, but no shade, was pretty hot on course. Pushed pretty well.

Warm down:

Walking around, hydrating, was pretty spent after the race. Hard effort.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bike training!

Good race for the first year. Hard bike course. Need to plan for the 2 transition set-up.
