Run
Comments: Tried out the infinit drink mix (2 10oz bottles) and timed it so the first one would be done at 1hr the other by the end. Seemed to work well, as I only grabbed a bit of water at the last station. No gels or bars and didn't feel like I needed one. My only bad choice was my socks - I used a rather expensive set I just bought at a running store, but they are only single layer. My left foot got a pretty nasty blister by the last 3K - to the point where I was curling my big toe as I ran to keep weight off it. What would you do differently?: Push harder - I was able to sprint the last 200m which means I obviously still had gas left. I crossed the line at 26km/hr according to my watch. :) Post race
Warm down: Long walk, drink some choco milk and stretch What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of courage for faster pacing. Event comments: Weather was better than expected, and the after race meal of pancakes/bacon/eggs etc was more than I was expecting. Last updated: 2008-10-19 12:00 AM

Race had a later start so had a few bowls of cereal and drink a full bottle of Gatorade an hour before start. Packing up water/choco milk for after race.
Jogged around a bit to get that last potty break ready, went and then lined up at start. Should have stretched a bit.
