Pre-race routine:

The day after - carb up my self since lunch- 1.5 bagel with eggs, ham, cheese. Ikea hot dog + cinnamon bun, Mexican town for dinner, 2 huge scope of ice cream when I get home.

7 hr of sleep, wake up at 5:00 and do some stretch

breakfast:
oatmeal + fruit
1/4 glass of milk
2 boil eggs
Event warmup:

run/walk/jam around to look for bathroom booth in the dark. Jumping up and down to hold on at the long bathroom line... if that's consider a warm up.

No time left to do any warmup/stretching. Don't even have time to go back to my time chute after bathroom. Beside, its too crowd to even lift my leg up for stretching.

Comments:

1. Feeling hungry at first 5k.

2. A little traffic jam in the beginning of the bridge. (I look at it as a little break)

3. Feeling a little dizzy at the last 3 mile
What would you do differently?:

1. Should have eat more or drink a boost 1 hr before race.

2. Stop less at water station.

3. Practice drinking from paper cup while running.

4. Drink with my mouth, instead of sucking Gatorade with my nose.

5. concentrate on the spin at finish line instead of looking around trying to find my wife in the crowd.

Pre-race:
- try to wake up a bit earlier.
- Eat a little more for breakfast.
- Empty all my "natural human waste products" before leaving home.
- Get to the race earlier
- Study the course map

Post race
Warm down:

Walk around mindlessly. Drink water. Can't even lift my leg to walk up the curb. Its hard enough not to sit down right away, let alone stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think I did the best I can do. If I have to label any limit, I would say the bathroom break in the beginning. Might be a bit more breakfast would help. And the traffic jam at the bridge as well. But those are very minor.

If I keep training, I think I can do much better next year.

Event comments:

too crowd and a bit lack of organization. But considering 18000 people racing on a fixed width course, I think its doing very well.
