Comments:

Went hard from the start, heart rate went a bit too high so after 200m slowed to comfortable pace, felt good at this pace, kicked legs hard on last 50m, got up and ran good strong pace to transition.
What would you do differently?:

a bit harder in middle portion of swim

speedo not working so just tried to keep heart rate at 170 (threshold). kept same pace for 3 laps, had half a gel at end of 2nd lap and drank half a bottle of heed. Got off bike feeling great and ready to run, high cadence on bike for final km

Have speedo working to help with pacing

Best 5km run in a race yet, went out in 4min/km pace for 1st 3km then picked it up over final 2km, hard pace but went in with a goal to braek 20min, yahoo, finally, already making new goals for next race.

Once again a great day out, my oldest daughter (12) and her friends raced a team event over 300/13/3km, with my daughter doing the swim, so proud of them all, almost missed the start of my own race .
