Swim
Comments: Swimming is my strong point and I was really hoping to do better. I passed three people (2 were in the heat before mine) but the water was so warm that my arms and legs felt like bricks by the time I climbed out. What would you do differently?: While waiting to enter the pool, the person in front of me said that I could go in front of her. I said "no" because I didn't want to get passed by someone with a better time than me. I should have taken her up on it because I passed her at the end of the 2nd lap. Transition 1
Comments: I had no idea I was moving so slowly! I'm so bummed about this time! What would you do differently?: Move FASTER! Bike
Comments: During the bike I noticed my lft knee hurting and I was pushing and pulling much harder with my right leg. What would you do differently?: Ride the course and train more Transition 2
Comments: this transition was better but still should have been faster. What would you do differently?: practice transitions! Run
Comments: Due to overusing my right leg while on the bike my rt calf cramped severally on the run. It stayed that way for about 1/4 mile and then the pain was mild. What would you do differently?: train better Post race
Warm down: Walked around...ate some food...drank lot of water! Even though it was cold, I was extremely hot! What limited your ability to perform faster: Many things that I will work on for my 2nd triathlon! Event comments: I knew I was not going to get any awards but I stuck around for them any way. I was surprised that most people had gone by then. It was really neat to see everyone who got an award so proud....not to mention all the cool stuff I got because I did stay! Woke up at 5am, downed some coffee and ate a 1/2 bagel w/ PB. Started drinking water and headed down the street to meet up w/ some other women I had been training with.
Did not do too much warming up...just walked around and did a few stretches.
