Swim
Comments: Due to the two entry points, the swimmers entered the water at a very fast pace. I was surprised how crowded it was. Even in the main channel I was bumped alot. I had some early goggle problems but overall I tried to relax the best I could. I was pleased overall. What would you do differently?: Relax a little. Transition 1
Comments: Just took my time. It's a long bike after all. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: The 1st 45 or so miles felt great. I took my time up the hills and ate well. Until mile 85 I struggle a bit but kept my nutrition OK. I got in to a nice grove from 85 to the end and finshed strong. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: I was surprised I took this long but oh well. What would you do differently?: Probably nothing. Run
Comments: Started off great. I tried to slow myslef down by found it diffcult. I hit the half at 2:05 but I figured 4:10 would be tough. My stomach felt so-so and by 19 that was I puked. I held on the best I could until the end but I tink I puked 3 more times. I hit every water stop and had water and cola. I did have chicken broth once the belly went out. I did run under 10 min miles which was my goal so I was happy. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Post race
Warm down: Got my finisher's stuff and went back to room to puke some more!! I felt like a bad college hagover. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just my stomach giving out toward the end. Event comments: I came back to L'ville to exact revenge on the course and that's what I did. I bettered last year's time by 1h 56m. The race was great and well organized. Plus it was great to hear Mike R.tell me I was an Ironman!! Last updated: 2008-10-21 12:00 AM
