Run
Comments: Good Lord that was a challenge. Cold and windy...my two favorite running conditions Walking to the start from the parking lot I told Steve that I wanted to go back to the car. Downtown between all of the buildings the wind was so fierce that in about one block my face went numb. Stood in the tent for as long as possible before heading to the start. First 2 miles were directly into the headwind. My fingers hurt so bad that I pulled them out of the fingers and made my hands into a fist to try to keep them warm. Toes were not bad but I had that feeling you get where it feels like your socks are all balled up but they aren't. After the first two miles, we mostly had cross or tail winds and it got much better. Actually took off my gloves and ear warmer at about mile 2. Felt really great until the hills started at about mile 6. After that, it was just keep moving...one foot in front of the other. In the end, I was not unhappy with my time. I had a secret goal of 2:22 but the taking the conditions into account, I'll take a 2:29. What would you do differently?: Run faster! Post race
Warm down: Stretched a bit. Waited for Steve and headed back to the car. Too cold to hang around What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind and cold Event comments: A few of the aid stations were not prepared. They were trying to pour water as fast as people were taking it. Last updated: 2008-10-22 12:00 AM

I told myself I was not going to overdress, but dang...it's in the low 30's with 30 mph winds. Going with tights, UA Cold Gear shirt, LS Tech shirt and fleece vest. Gloves and eat warmer will round it out.
I will probably be too warm by the end of the run but that's how it usually works for me.
