Pre-race routine:

stayed in Indy got up had an Ensure and a bar, ate 4 shot bloks before the start walked to the club Kokomo tent and dropped off my stuff

did a very short warm up of about .4 miles

Comments:

Ran good, started in corral B I should have moved up to the back of corral A, because I got stuck behind some slower runners and my first mile was around 7:30 I was trying to stay around 6:50. I had to pick up the pace to get my average back down. I ran strong staying under 7 min/mile most of the way and finished strong with a 6:45. I ran the whole race with no gels only water and Gatorade given at the stops and I was fine. It was a great day to run low temps, cloudy and no wind, I wish I was in a little better run shape so I could have broke 1:30 but I'll take the 1:31 it was still a PR.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the front of my corral, other than that I ran the best I could for my fitness level

walked around and talked then walked back to hotel

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not enough mileage and slow start

Love this race very fun and lots of great volunteers.

miles according to the garmin.(they were off the first mile, I went by the mile marker at 7:28 then had to pick it up my splits on the Garmin were: 7:04/6:45/6:52/6:52/6:48/6:58/7:03/7:01/7:00/6:54/7:04/7:05/6:45/1:40 garmin had an extra .15 for a total 13.25 miles
Course: flat out of downtown around the zoo then to the Indy 500 track one lap around and back to downtown
