Swim was good. Just crowded. Took forever waiting on some people.
What would you do differently?:

Seed myself faster next year. I felt like I could have finished in under 7 minutes.

Made the decision to continue after the swim. Because of the rain and not ever being on a road bike I did not know if I wanted to continue, but I did.

Unfortunately I got a flat. I had no tube since I did not plan on riding anyway. Walked for 40 minutes until I had a friend drive by and give me his tire.

Bring a spare no matter what!

Riding on my rim, then walking for 40+ min.

Event comments:

Great race. Well run considering there were 700 people, it was raining, lightning, etc.

This is the race that convinced my to take up tri's. I thought this one would be fun. It was a blast! Never been on a road bike before this ride. Very different.

I just pulled a time of 1hr 30min out of the sky as a finish time and I would have beat that by 12 minutes if I did not have to walk. This also would have put me in about 110th place out of 350 participants without even training. This race showed me I can do this. Just as with Uwharrie, I got home and looked for the next one.
