Run
Comments: About 1/2 mile into the run I knew it was gonna be a horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day! My calves were so tight that they would not flush out the lactic acid and the just burned! I really stuggled the first 5 miles. I had to pee and finally found a porta-john but there were 3 woman in line. OMG! How freakin' long does it take to pee!? I stood there for about 4 or 5 minutes (or so it seemed) waiting for the woman to pee. The rest did me good though as my legs felt much better after the pit stop. I decided I needed to make up for lost time so picked up the pace. I started counting the number of people I passed. Over the next 7 miles I tried to pass as many people as I could. I passed 76 people before crossing the finish line! I was not passed once in the last 7 miles. The race website said the first 550 people to cross the finish line would get a finisher's medal. I didn't know how many people were in the race but I knew that everbody that I passed increased my chances of getting a medal. I got my medal. It'll be interesting to see if I had not passed 76 people would I still have gotten a medal. Post race
