Pre-race routine:

Local race, so slept in til about 6:00. Had a gel and some water to drink before leaving the house.

Walking from the parking garage to the race area.

Comments:

Counting the slow first mile, I was able to negative split the race and was pleased with my overall time. My goal time was 1:25, with a stretch goal of 1:20, so I'm right in there.
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of food and a band. Very well organized for a local race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need more work on pacing and muscular endurance.

Event comments:

Great race. Very well done. Great shirts and hat compared to a lot of larger races in this area.

Performance: Good
Course: Flat loop style course. They made a slight change in start location from last year that's improved (sped up) the first mile. Each mile is marked with someone calling out split times. Four or five aid stations along the route. It was chilly and windy for the first half of the race, but heating up by the end. I wore a shorts and a long sleeve tee, and was just slightly overdressed.
