Run
Comments: started out with the masses in the 10mm pack. hung with MAX for the first 2 miles - and watched Kathy, MAV and Friend-of-Harpoon pull further and further ahead, luckily i had running4beer pacing just a head of me the whole time. i stopped for a sip of water and 30 sec walk at mile 2 then hopped back into it and felt great until mile 4 where i took a 1 min walk break to wonder about the searing pain in my left knee. Got back on pace and focus on the music - and double checked with the course volunteers to make sure i wasn't following the 1/2 Mary crowd ;) then it was the final push to the end that i really wish i had worked harder. I'm excited to have kept my desired pace - the funny thing is i got close to the end before my 'power song' kicked in ... i'll have to move it up in the rotation for my next 10k! What would you do differently?: push harder at the end - not just the 50 yard sprint up the hill to cross the finish line Post race
Warm down: Coconut O water - my favorite!! back to the room to freshen up and ICE BOTH KNEES What limited your ability to perform faster: my internal struggle - something inside my head believes that I'll die if i try to run faster in the last mile of a race - gotta work on NEGATIVE SPLITS Event comments: although i didn't need it - i expected more than 2 water stations... didn't limit my performance BT Rocks - it was great to have a big group dinner before and huge lunch gathering after!
