Pre-race routine:

Juice, water, a couple sips of some gross Heed drink that I gave up on and a single shotblock. Stood on the hotel room balcony contemplating the number of layers necessary, changed twice and grabbed my jacket at the last second and met all the BT folks out for lots of group photos!
Event warmup:

Felt like the walking around the hotel back and forth a few times was enough of a warm up for me. Headed for the 10min mile line early and did a little stretching while talking to some randoms in the crowd.

Comments:

Started off strong, took water at the first stop at mile 2 and walked for a moment, kept pace on the hills and had a pretty good first 5k, completing it in around 31:30. Knees definitely felt the pressure and I was really unsure about my pacing since I was expecting to pace based on HR, but that was all screwy. iPod was on shuffle on my running playlist, so all the music was upbeat and fun - just what I needed. Oddly, though - my shuffle actually repeated two songs... weird and annoying. Tried to ignore that and just run.

Mile 4 and my right foot was tingly, starting to get a little numb. My right knee was going to be a little swollen, for sure, but it was holding up better than expected. And then the step - that one stupid footfall that felt like someone stabbing me in the side of my right foot! UGH. I spent the next half mile trying to adjust my form to make it feel better- shorter stride, more lean, more forefoot ANYTHING... but nothing really worked. It just hurt everytime I put my foot down. Walked a little here and there and shed the jacked after mile 5. Had a hard time keeping spirits up, and was not my usual singing-along, road-dancing self that was present for the first half.

RedSoxChick passed me when I was feeling at my crappiest, so I tried to pace off her pigtails and green jacket which was super helpful.

I was all moody after my performance and BRAND NEW aches and pains, but I know that today was a real accomplishment and a great effort on little to no running training for the past month. I definitely want to do this run again, and one of the coolest parts of the actual run was seeing so many BT folks along the course which definitely helped me to keep moving through the creakiness as I brushed the dust and cobwebs off my knees.
What would you do differently?:

Better pre-race meal. My selection at the restaurant was pretty gross so I ended up eating very little instead of having a proper meal (we didn't have lunch, either) for energy the next morning AND to soak up the booze from that night.

Go to sleep earlier and stay asleep! Went to bed around midnight, but woke up around 5:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.

Train, obviously. Now that I can start running again in addition to PT, next road run will be much better.
Post race
Warm down:

Chugged some post-race Brawndo, ate half a kitkat, showered and put some topical analgesic on my knee and foot and laid in bed for a few minutes before minimal stretching. Watched some of the 1/2ers come in and then went to BBC for post race chow and drink. MAN was I hungry by then!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Knee injury, new foot pain on the same side as the worse knee, few running training hours pre-race, lack of sleep and food... jeebus-- it sounds like a doomed cause :P

Event comments:

Really fun race, and I was so happy to meet other BTers that really made my first race back on my feet mentally easier to handle as well as a lot more fun. I'll kill this course next year!

My Garmina was acting up. I was getting really frustrated that the darn thing kept telling me that my HR was somewhere between 90 and 110! Feh.
Course: Pretty course, a nice crowd. Good challenging hills - I really liked this one and hope to do it again when I'm a little better prepared.
