Run
Comments: Only about 10 of the 178 Elvis did the full... I think I finished about 5th of the ten Elvi Full-Marathoners. This was like running with the Bulls...it's hard to stop laughing, though. I kept getting gored by laughter at some of the Elvis Antics. Some of the Elvi spent months practicing routines. What would you do differently?: Grease my hair up a little more. Post race
Warm down: Drank some coffee and looked around for other Elvi... they were already at the bar. What limited your ability to perform faster: Wig, white sequined jumpsuit, 40 minutes spent at the weddling chapel at mile 5 witnessing the nuptials of 58 running couples. Geez ran this as Barefoot Elvis alonside 178 other runners dressed as the King or as Elvis Accessories: e.g. showgirls, devil Elvis, SuperElvis, etc.
Put my wig on, then my white sequined jumpsuit and walked through the casino at 4 am dressed as Elvis in Drag and barefoot. Lots of people still had not gone to bed yet. Drunk stopped me at the Santa Claus throne and said the King needs to get on his throne. Oki and I ran away to the tram.
Met the 178 other Elvi in the food court of the Mandalay Bay, took some photos then commented how wierd all the runners in shorts, shoes and singlets looked.
Lead Elvis broke out a 24 pack of the Elvis Energy Drink, Bud Light, and started hydrating for the race while downing a deep friend peanut butter and banana sandwich. Just the way Elvis would have done, minus the drugs.
We were then led into a special Elvis Corral next to the ELite runners. Some of the Ethiopians and Kenyans stared longinly over at our troupe. I'm sure the Ethiopian will run with us next year.
