Pre-race routine:

Friday night: drink about 8 grey goose screwdrivers and about 8 beers. Eat sushi. Stay out to 4p. Not the best idea
Sat: Sleep till 8a local time. Wake up to make some calls. Sleep more until 10. Wake up to eat and take advil. Sleep until 1p. Felt better. Go pick up packet. Ate grilled salmon, spinach, and potatoes for dinner at 7p. Went to movies with EVS, arpod, and courtney. In bed by 11.
Sun: Up at 6:15. Had chocolate power bar and tea. Dropped at race side at 7:45. Ate orange-vanilla carboom (50mg caf) at 8:15 with about 8 oz water
Event warmup:

Light jog with some strides.

Comments:

I figured my stomach would be a wreck considering my bender on Friday night, but actually felt great. Probably better than any race.

I did, however, have no top end. The legs felt really heavy. Not sure if I rested well enough. Heart rate felt very easy, but legs just could not go any faster, especially up hill.

Had a few sips of Cytomax along the course.
What would you do differently?:

Definitely cut out the booze! Though it was a good time ;-). I guess if you're doing a RnR event, got to go out like a rock n' roller. I felt really dehydrated on the run (and still do). Could have consumed more water (only sipped at aid stations) and perhaps a gel at mile 8. Will have to try that some time.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked through well stocked food line and met EVS. Walked to truck.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Grey goose!

Event comments:

Awesome race and potentially fast course. Didn't really live up to my potential here, but will do better next time. Lot's of fun.

Course: Pretty flat, but didn't seem to match the elevation profile on Web. Looked like it should be a gradual descent at ~mile 10, but actually miles 10, 11, 12 had a fair amount of hills. Also, hit a stiff (~15) mph headwind, so was a bit of an unexpected challenge
