Pre-race routine:

Got to the race site areound 4:15 a.m. Set up transition area, used the restroom, socialized with friends.
Event warmup:

Stretched for about 15 minutes and took a short swim about 10 minutes before my wave start.

Comments:

Water was much choppier than last two years. Kept getting pushed off my line and had to keep correcting course. I did better on my stroke and only shifted to breast stroke 3 times for less than a minute each. Time was faster than last year, so that's a plus.

Was 322/542 overall.
What would you do differently?:

Sounds like a broken record...TRAIN MORE!!!!

Had a good T1 again. Very happy that I continue to do well here. I pushed myself from the water to transition. Time was faster than last year here, too.

Tough bike leg this year with the wind on the way out. Wind got gusty in some places and really affected my speed. This was the only leg that I was slower in this year.

Little more training to include some strength.

Stumbled a little with bike racking. Put socks on for this race. New Zoots went on easily. Not my best, but still, my time was better than last year.

Just need to pay attention while racking bike. I think I lost a few seconds here.

Not a bad run but my legs felt like bricks the last two miles. I was pretty tight. Time was better than last year by about 3 minutes.

Training.

Warm down:

Walk, walk, walk, drank water and gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Trainin, training, training. Timing of vacation kind of affected things a bit. No one to blame but myself on this one.

Event comments:

Overall, I can't complain and I am happy with my results. My overall time was 1.5 minutes faster and I placed higher in the rankings this year than I had in the previous years. Three Tinman Tris and this was my best of the three. I kick myself a little because I did that with minimal training the last month, imagine what I could have done if I had actually put some effort forward and trained a little more consistently.
